sedumipy.trydif¶
Port of trydif.m: builds w=D(x)z’s spectral values at a trial point and checks its wide-neighborhood membership, falling back to the previous (t=0) point if it isn’t close enough.
KNOWN UPSTREAM BUG NOT REPLICATED: trydif.m carries a verbatim copy of widelen.m’s if all(tmp > 0) Lorentz-eigenvalue branch, and so carries the same defect – one block whose discriminant lands on (or just below) zero silently switches every block onto the cruder lab2q = halfxz formula. tmp is a perfect square in exact arithmetic, so this port clamps per block (sqrt(max(tmp, 0))) exactly as widelen.py does; see that module’s docstring for the full derivation and the measured effect.
